Application of C-AFM

Conductive carbon tape (often used in SEM) is sticky and can pose challenges to AFM image users. Carbon nanoparticles are observed to present in high concentration in the adhesion and modulus images but only a few small areas have a conductive pathway to the backside of the sample (refer to bright spots in the below images). Data acquired using a Bruker Dimension Icon AFM with PeakForce TUNA using an AD-40-AS Adama Innovations probe.
